Ngày 18/11/2023, Ban Thường vụ Tỉnh đoàn Long An phối hợp cùng Công ty TNHH Dow Chemical Việt Nam (Dow Việt Nam), Maersk Việt Nam và Công Ty TNHH Lys Energy Việt Nam triển khai chương trình “Rừng Cây Sinh Kế” tại khu vực Lâm Viên Thanh Niên, Tỉnh Long An. Đây là chương trình nhằm hưởng ứng Đề án “Một tỉ cây xanh” đến năm 2025 do Thủ tướng Chính phủ phát động nhằm bảo vệ môi trường sinh thái, cải thiện cảnh quan và ứng phó với biến đổi khí hậu, phát triển kinh tế – xã hội, nâng cao chất lượng cuộc sống của người dân và phát triển bền vững.
Tham dự buổi lễ có bà Lê Thị Hồng Kết – Phó Bí thư Tỉnh đoàn, Chủ tịch Hội LHTN Việt Nam tỉnh Long An, Giám đốc Trung tâm hoạt động Thanh thiếu nhi tỉnh (TTHĐTTN), Ông Nguyễn Mạnh Tường – Phó Giám đốc TTHĐTTN tỉnh, Ông Lê Hoàng Long – quyền Chủ tịch UBND xã Tân Đông cùng hơn 100 thanh niên, ban lãnh đạo và nhân viên của cả 3 công ty.
“Chúng tôi luôn ưu tiên thực hiện các dự án cộng đồng cùng với các công ty đối tác để mang lại tác động lớn hơn. Hoạt động trồng cây góp phần giảm khí thải gây hiệu ứng nhà kính giúp ứng phó với biến đổi khí hậu và phát triển kinh tế – xã hội này phù hợp với mục tiêu phát triển bền vững đến năm 2025 của Dow bảo vệ môi trường, chuyển đổi chất thải và khép kín vòng tuần hoàn.” Bà Nguyễn Xuân Kim Phượng, Tổng Giám Đốc Dow Việt Nam cho biết.
Cũng trong khuôn khổ sự kiện, bà Willaume Solène Camille – Giám đốc Khu Vực của Lys Energy Việt Nam chia sẻ “Năm 2023, mục tiêu trồng 1000 cây tại các quốc gia mà chúng tôi đang hoạt động đã hoàn thành nhưng điều đó không ngăn cản việc tiếp tục đóng góp vào hoạt động giảm thải khí CO2 của Lys”.
Sau chương trình, những cây xanh này sẽ được chăm sóc và quản lý bởi Ban quản lý Lâm Viên Thanh Niên, Tỉnh Long An.
